Super Therapy?

Well it seems like it if what they say is true!

The staff at Hollins Communications Research Institute (HCRI), have been doing some advanced cutting edge research on speech disorders. And they are offering an intense 12-day treatment for those who stutter. And their goal is not really "improved" fluency or "feeling better" about stuttering, but rather to give you normal-sounding fluent speech!
It sounds a bit too much and overwelming, and too good to be true, but they say that 90% of their participants achieve fluency! And the drop out rate is 1%!
And the cost rate is about 1/3rd of traditional treatment. However, it is only offered at HCRI in Roanoke, Virginia USA, and there are 17 sessions in one year. So those may cause a problem for many.

Well, this program seems truely amazing to me! Except I'm not sure if the fluency lasts or not.
So here is a link, and see what you think!

New Drug for Stutterers?!

Yes!
Well, may be.
A large experiment was conducted by Indevus Pharmaceuticals Inc
of Lexington, on stutterers to test their new drug:
There were 132-patients,
88 of them were given the drug, pagoclone, while the rest were given the well known placebo.
They were given various tests like reading aloud or having conversations.
They were measured on the frequency of their stuttering, and the length of time they took on their blocks.

And it was evident that those with pagoclone stuttered a lot less than those with placebo!
Gerald Maguire, who researches in speech disorders said the results were promising. Also, the pagoclone causes less side effects than the current psychiatric drugs currently prescribed for severe stutterers.
But they need more tests and bigger tests to be certain.

My opinion on this? Well, if it will truly help me on my stuttering, the I think it is awesome!
Just so long as there are no bad side effects, and a money-back guarantee.
